A beautiful fish camp located in Northern Florida owned by a friend of mine that I went to high school with. This will be an outdoor event, come early in the day and charter a boat and do some fishing. If camping, call to reserve a spot.
We had such a great turn out for the open mic back in October that we just have to do it again! Come on out, bring some food for yourself and to share if you want, but not necessarily a pot luck. The original plan for this album was for me to record a few of the songs my grandfather
used to sing, along with a couple of my originals. My son, George, was the engineer at our home studio, and he was also playing bass on a few of those songs.
After George’s death in October of 2020, I lost interest in the project but still knew that
sometime I would pick it back up, although I didn't know what direction it would take.
I wrote three new songs, Blue Tin Cup, Only A Dollar, and Untitled and knew I had to
record them. Two years later I decided to record an album of all original songs. It's not
perfect, there are tempo changes, maybe a guitar note here and there that's not clear,
and other little things throughout. But, it's OK, because none of us are perfect, for sure.
Over the years I've had several people suggest that I record this type of album, stripped down with just me and a guitar. I invited Jodi Ibey to sing harmony on a few tracks. The only exception is Back Porch Swing, which is the most complete song from what George and I were recording. He is playing his electric bass guitar on that track, and I added Jared Croteau on drums.
This project has provided some healing for me, partly because of the people involved,
and partly because of all the feelings and emotions that you will encounter as you listen. Thank you for supporting music like this... it means more than I could ever say.

As in 33 Summers and Untitled we learn that relatives can be taken away from us way too soon. Separate incidents but the same heartbreak for everyone that knew them.
